It is located 10 km away from the ancient city of Laodicea. There is an international thermal center, Karahayıt, 5 km away. Here, five and four-star hotels provide thermal tourism and spa services.

Healing thermal water is the source of life for the world’s famous white travertines. It is stated that the thermal springs in Karahayıt and Gölemezli near Pamukkale are good for rheumatism, heart, stomach, arteriosclerosis, blood pressure and skin disorders. Some of the hotels in the region provide health tourism services with experts trained in thermal treatment. The thermal pool in Pamukkale, with its water temperature of 35 degrees in summer and winter, allows tourists to visit the region to enjoy their time.

Pamukkale, which is surrounded by the ancient city of Hierapolis, is 20 kilometers away from the city center. Hierapolis, founded in 197 BC, stands out in terms of faith tourism because of the death of St Philip, one of the apostles of the Prophet Jesus of Christ, and the construction of a monumental tomb in his name. The historical artifacts found in the excavations are exhibited in Hierapolis Archeology Museum.

Northern Necropolis: The monuments in the necropolis are in good condition, and a large area with a large number of travertine sarcophagi is spreading in the wide area. The number is more than two thousand, and the inscription in the majority is encountered by the Greek Soros Sufiksi.

South Necropolis: The right-hand side shows impressive traces of the earthquake. The wide travertine flatness was completely overlying. The simple and perhaps older necropolis’s quadrilateral pit graves and stone quarries are noteworthy. During the excavations, the experts of Denizli Museum found a tomb with a long inscribed boom. A tumulus grave dating to the Young Hellenistic Period was found near it. Excavation works are ongoing in the north of the area.

Especially during the Roman Empire, Hierapolis and its surroundings were a complete health center. In those years, thousands of people came to the ancient city and around more than 15 baths and recovered their health. Today, the Antique Pool is formed by the earthquake that occurred in the VII century.  Antique Pool has a relaxing effect due to the temperature of the water. According to researches on this subject, the water of the ancient pool is good for heart disease, rheumatism, and etc…
